ORBIT PX-8
First working prototype — V2 already underway
I'm building my dream instrument: a hardware looper with four independent stereo tracks, tempo-locked overdubs, and a handful of performance effects I couldn't find anywhere else. It runs on a Daisy Seed — firmware, enclosure, and faceplate all designed and built from scratch.
What you see here is the first working prototype — a rough proof of concept, built to nail the sound and the feel before anything else. I'm already deep into V2: a bigger, sharper screen, a premium enclosure, better knobs and buttons, and more tracks.
What it does
- Four independent stereo loop tracks, up to 12 seconds each
- Tempo-locked overdubs — recordings speed up or slow down to stay locked to the beat instead of drifting
- Four live performance effects: quantized Beat Repeat, a sweeping Riser, Pickup, and a full-band Revert
- A small OLED with live waveforms and a dedicated animation for every effect
- Firmware, enclosure, and faceplate — all designed and built from scratch
